The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) recently confirmed the discovery of the H1N2 virus in a child in Minnesota.
This is only the second human infection on record in the US.
While this virus normally circulates through swine, there is no known swine contact in this most recent case, “implying that limited human-to-human transmission may have occurred in this instance as well”.
